How Does the Internet Benefit You?

This is a topic of discussion that comes up frequently and it’s often answered in terms of how businesses can benefit from online marketing techniques which typically includes Search Engine Marketing (SEM) & Social Networking to name a few. Those business topics have their place and will be addressed in future articles. But for now let’s focus on how the internet benefits the individual who uses it purely for personal reasons.

It’s important to realize that the process of finding many of the goods and services you learn about online is a direct result of how those service providers are marketing themselves online. When it’s done right, you get to be the beneficiary since you can find what you need at the click of a button. Compared to a time not long ago, you would have to flip through a big yellow book to find the services you wanted and then you would be taking a gamble on whether or not that provider is qualified and reliable.

With that said, those things mentioned above actually do play a role in your personal online life. Where do you go when you want to find a new place to go for dinner? Or how about when you’re looking for a plumber at the last minute to come fix your broken water heater in the middle of the night? With so many online service rating tools we now have the ability to see what others are saying and can potentially help you avoid a huge headache later on. And when you can’t find what you’re looking for through traditional online search sources you can also post the question to your friends on a social networking website like Facebook or Twitter and ask for suggestions.

The internet is here for you and when professional web designers do their job right you, as the user, will benefit from the services that businesses want you to know about and the truth about whether they are a good option for your needs.

A Tip for Business Owners

About a year ago a friend of mine asked me if I wanted to join her at a mixer for this business group she belonged to. Since I had been looking for new ways to grow my business, I basically jumped at the chance to network and meet some new people.

I was floored by the prospects that were made available to me almost the instant I walked through the door. The first gentleman I met ended up hiring our company for his website and met 2 others that currently have contracts pending. I wasn't even a member at that point, just a guest trying to figure out what the group was all about. That was just a beginning and needless to say I ended up joining the group a few weeks later. Our business has exploded and to this day we continue to get fresh leads almost every week. The group I'm talking about is LeTip of Red Rock which is a chapter of LeTip International, Inc. They are the world's largest, privately owned, professional business leads organization. Since 1978, LeTip programs have helped over 50,000 members, throughout the United States and Canada, build business success through personal referrals.

As an active member in the chapter, KMJ Web Design wanted to build the chapter a website we would all be proud of. Ultimately, the website will help guests understand what we're all about and provide them with the needed information when and where to attend the next meeting/mixer. First time guests get a free breakfast and usually after seeing the huge potential of the group, they find themselves ready to join just as I did.

LeTip of Red Rock is looking to grow their chapter and they have many open positions available for prospective business owners. We invite to take a moment to review the website, learn about the chapter and contact them about how you can become a member of LeTip of Red Rock!

Craig Road Animal Hospital

As you all probably know by now, we have come to rely on our blog for announcing all the new projects released by KMJ Web Design. And every once in a while we have a little more of a story to share about a project and all the things that went into creating it. This was definitely one of those projects because it's a rare occurrence that we'll end up designing a website 3 different times. But it happened in this case because we were determined to provide a design that was embraced by not only the owner, but entire staff at Craig Road Animal Hospital.

Speaking from first hand experience, I can say they are a great bunch of people at Craig Road Animal Hospital. We had a lot of fun working with them while trying to help them define what it was they needed to accomplish with their website. From our initial meeting we came up with a game plan and delivered our first design scheme, but it really wasn't what they were looking for. So we thought long and hard and decided the best way to address their concerns was to start from scratch and develop a whole new design scheme. It was risky, but in the end we got a step closer to giving the client what they were hoping for. But it still wasn't quite right and after some discussion we decided that we could get it right where the client wanted it with some graphical changes that would save us from another rebuild. Not only were we able to improve the design and get thumbs up from the entire staff at Craig Road Animal Hospital
, but we did so without needing to spend costly additional time on the project.

Although, it's true from time to time that a project will turn out to be a little more complicated than originally anticipated, but that comes with the territory. In the end we, at
KMJ Web Design, only care about making our clients happy and meeting every step of our clients expectations.

We invite all of you to please take a moment to visit this exciting new website and if any of your four-legged family members need an excellent veterinarian, we highly recommend the talented and friendly Doctors at Craig Road Animal Hospital.

Design for Design

Considering my background in architecture, I figured it would only be a matter of time before KMJ Web Design was hired to build a website for a local Las Vegas architect, and sure enough, it happened. We're proud to announce the launch of our latest project for the firm Douglas G. Purvis Architects, Ltd.

My history with the owner goes back 15 years or so and I was honored when he approached me to build his first ever website. We tried to deliver something a little different with this project by keeping the entire websites content on one page. Using a system of layers to "show" or "hide" the content allowed us to provide a unique experience for the user all the while keeping it simple to navigate.

If you are in the market for a Custom Residential or Commercial architect, we highly recommend Douglas G. Purvis Architects, Ltd. When visiting the website, click on the Projects link to see what kind of work Doug and his staff can do for you!

We're on a roll with yet another website. This time it's for Jonathan Roberts and Anna Trebunskaya from DWTS!

Wow, so our fourth website in two weeks has launched and it was a fun one. For this project KMJ Web Design partnered together with the folks at Social Star Power, an up and coming social media management service for anyone who wants the freedom to enjoy the "social" element of social media with a hassle-free online experience.

Social Star Power caters to several celebrity clients and from within those circles, it came as no surprise that we were asked to assist them with a new website for professional dancers Jonathan Roberts and Anna Trebunskaya. Some of you will know this dancing duo from the ABC series Dancing with the Stars!

This project was all about social media and so we came up with a simple design to showboat Jonathan & Anna's social media environment. The entire left pane is devoted to Facebook, Personal Twitter feeds and a host of You Tube videos dedicated these talented dancers.

We invite anyone and everyone (especially fans of the show) to come check out Jonathan & Anna's new website. And if you like, feel free to post a comment below and tell us what you think.

A newly redesigned website for Advanced Management Group, LLC

We recently launched a redesigned version of the Advanced Management Group Website. This company has been a client of KMJ Web Design since 2007 when they hired us to build their first website and assist them in growing their online presence. It wasn't long after... less than a year I think, when they called on us again to assist them in redesigning the site because they had already outgrown their first website. We were happy to oblige and with that, we established the current look and feel of the website back in 2008.

So here we are, two years later, when once again Advanced Management Group was looking to improve on their existing design to accommodate their continued growth. This time they wanted to keep the same basic look and feel of the site, so we provided a usability upgrade to the website in addition to new features to better serve their clientele. All together we were very happy with the final results.

We'd like to invite all of our readers to go check out the Advanced Management Group website and if you happen to be looking for a new place to live, their staff will be more than happy to assist you.

Check out the latest launches for David R. Fischer & Associates and ATOM Las Vegas

True to our form and admittedly not proud of it, we are making a far over due post to the Las Vegas Web Worker Blog. We're going to be talking about two new projects recently launched by KMJ Web Design and we would like to encourage all of our readers to check out these great services and be sure to tell them KMJ Web Design sent you!

The first website is for David R. Fischer & Associates, LLC. David and his staff are serious about making sure their clients get the legal advice they need. With services ranging from Personal Injury to Criminal Defense, David R. Fischer & Associates, LLC has what you need.

When we designed the website, we worked closely with the staff to help define their goals and then we came up with a strategy to assist them in achieving those goals. The website contains general information for potential clients and a variety of ways for clients to begin getting the assistance they need. Please consider David R. Fischer & Associates, LLC when seeking an attorney, they will be happy to assist you!

Next on the list, and on the opposite end of the spectrum of our wide range of clients, is the website for ATOM Las Vegas. This takes us back to our roots as KMJ Web Design has a rich background in web design for the entertainment industry. Our entertainment clients span the country, but this one is a local client for whom we built their first website back in 2004. Originally specializing in Murder Mystery Dinner Theater under the moniker A Touch Of Mystery, the owner decided they were going to expand their list of services bumping them into a whole new category. We were hired to create an "umbrella" website to house all the different aspects of the their services which include everything from interactive entertainment to full-fledged production shows. The owner, Jay Joseph, is more than happy to assist you in developing a custom designed team building exercise for your next corporate event. Check out ATOM Las Vegas today!
